Ginger out in the sticks
So Sifting through some photos and rebuilding my new flickr I came across a photo of my friend Ginger. In our attempt to go out and shoot one evening, it became drastically cold and we had to cut things short. We had the chance to grab this one, but I am looking forward to doing much more.

4. In addition to donating all of their tips during this time period, they will also exchange a free side item for a new or used book. (Green Eggs and Ham = life-changing mac-n-cheese!) The types of books needed are: baby board boards, children’s fiction and non-fiction, young adult chapter books, atlases, dictionaries, text books (elementary-high school aged). Essentially any book that has content appropriate for children is welcomed.
So even if you don’t have a book to donate, visit The Q anytime between 3/10 and 3/17 and all of your tips will be used to purchase the books needed for a children’s library in Swaziland. Who knew humanitarian efforts could be so.. effortless?

So I’ve been so anxious to post these pics and get the full piece up, I’m even gonna jump the gun on it. I have some video that I am submitting of the artists to PBR for their work, but you guys will just have to see an update on that later. This party went off! No doubt about that. Graveyard was slammed, the submissions definitely stepped it up from last year, Klever and Rob Wonder slayed the dance floor, and PBR repped harder than ever. I have never seen more support for any product more than I have seen support for PBR.

Marina’s voice is pitch perfect on every track, the acoustic version of I am not a robot is a perfect track for getting some work in around the house or just chilling, while the Russ Chimes rework of “Mowgli’s Road” is total rage. So all the club/bars/people making it happen, got together and decided to put together a “employee friends and family” type of event. An appreciation to everyone that has supported them through the year. Open bar and late night skating is a perfect place to catch bad ideas and mishaps. Be sure to check it out!
So I have been doing Monday’s at Halo for some time now and I got to say that the past month has been nuts. More and more industry heads have been out and definitely taking advantage of their night off. The “debauchery” or call it what you like, have been out of control. Drunken moments continue every night and stories build upon stories with this place. Don’t miss out on these pics and stop by some time and join in on our drunken madness.

Sloppy Seconds was quite the debauchery this past week. Seemed to be something in the air this night with the amount of people making out with each other. Here are a few highlights. Enjoy!

As a family prepares to sit down and share a meal, their front door is kicked in and several rebels armed with machine guns and machetes file inside. Two men hold a grandmother’s frail arms as another man uses the muzzle of his gun to rape her. Another rebel soldier has a blade larger than his forearm pressed against a 10 year-old girl’s throat while he ravages her. A mother is raped and beaten to near-death as she fights for her family. Her 4 year-old son is shot in the head and tossed onto the kitchen table as soldiers laughingly suggest that he is eaten along with the rest of the meal. And the father? The rebels already found him outside and left his raped and mutilated body crumpled on the lawn, unable to help his terrified family. This is no horror film, nor any other work of fiction. This is daily life in Democratic Republic of Congo and you and I unwittingly perpetuate it. (more…)
I’d like to introduce local artist and designer, Greg Mike. I met GM about a year or so ago working for Carpe Denim and Trafik Tradeshow. Emerging from street art, then fine tuning his skills in art school in Florida, and finally flossin his steez with a platinum list of clients and making time for his personal work.
After about a 8 months of brainstorming and preparing, GM put together a series of pieces called “Popstars & Cokeheads”. The series consists of several soda cans and and three foot tall storage cans, and few other mediums.
We stopped by to get a sneak peek with GM before I jet off to San Fran to showcase his show at the Medicine Agency Gallery. There will be another show in Atlanta and one in New York City later in the spring. Be sure to give this guy a look at support his work. He even has beer coozies!

Well it has finally happened and after two and a half years I have FINALLY taken the time to put together a new site… with the help of my web guy, Mr. Darby, which made all this possible.
