No Mess Choon Up #2

So I guess this installment hasn't exactly been weekly so far...I'm gonna try to get back in to the swing of things and keep it weekly. Anyway, on to the music!

I can't stop banging my head to this tune, so I decided you all need to have it! The producer is Bare Noize, and the tune is a remix of M'Black's Heartbreak. Heartbreak (Bare Noize Remix) Finally if anyone is interested you can check out the original here.

The Bass Train

I bring to you today, the man named Trolley Snatcha. He produces and DJs with the Dub Police Crew and has been destroying dance floors all over Europe with his hard hitting bass. His style is filthy, grimey and wobbly. Take a look at the insanity he induces on the dance floor, just fast forward to about 2:40 when he drops in Got 2 Know by Flux Pavillion.

Not only can he work a crowd, but he also turns out some monster tunes, like Shake It or one of my personal favorites. We Rock The Forest
Check him out on Myspace and Facebook, or follow him on Twitter
Finally, don't sleep on 12th Planet tomorrow at HEAVY in East Atlanta. He's sure to have a ton of dubplates mixed in with some of the classics!

SOFA KING PRESENTS: MEIN KAMPF

mk_large

Leave it to our homie Sofa King aka Sofa King Evil to be the only person in history to ever drop a mixtape called Mein Kampf. For those of you who don't know "Mein Kampf" is the short name for Hitler's (Yes that Hitler) biography which loosely translates into "My Struggle." When we asked Sofa, why the name he stated " This is my struggle ." The mix basically represents Sofa Kings growth or struggle, in better use of words, over the past year. Its hard, brash, aggressive, fun and leagues away from his previous release Boogie Houser . Do yourself a favor and grab the mix and catch Sofa King spinning tomorrow night at Halo Lounge for Fever Fridays.

Kick It Up a Notch with an Acid-Wash

Victoria Beckham Acid-Washed Jeans

Victoria Beckham Acid-Washed Jeans

You got an old pair of jeans that you still fit into, but the wash or color of the denim keeps you from wearing them as much as you want? Or maybe you got an old denim jacket that just gathers dust in your closet, and you realized that if you added a little spunk to it, you might take that old thing out of retirement…Well if you wanna spark up your old denim and make it so flashy that you will want to wear them all day everyday, then get on the acid-washed denim kick! Acid-wash is very trendy right now and is a good way to make your apparel yours. I acid-washed two pairs of my denim shorts (one almost black denim pair and a medium blue jean pair). I also bleached an old pair of dark, dark jeans and an old Levi’s jean jacket that I found for $4 at a thrift store. I wanted to give them each a different look and a raw edge, and I was noticing what Rihanna and Kim Kardashian and all of the other Hollywood fashionistas were wearing, which was a stand out, rocker style with this acid look everywhere! I’ve seen splot-bleached leggings, 80's style bleached jean jackets, acid-washed jeans, dresses….This retro look is definitely back and on attack. I’m so not willing to spend an insane amount of money to get this effect, so I thought a DIY project would get the job done. After I finished this project, I knew a FYI blog was a must for sure because I am in LOOVE with all of my bleached garments now. They are DEFINITELY out of hiding!! Here’s a step-by-step process to achieve the look like Victoria Beck’s acid-washed dark denim jeans in this picture, but along with a million other optional methods for bleaching. The effects you can make with bleaching are endless. It's your masterpiece, so don't stop short and make it your own! Read more

Le Castle Vania :: Bulletproof Tiger Mixtape

Le Castle Vania has finally done... a mixtape!  Congratulations on making it as far as you have gotten and never once put out a mix out.  If you are a fan of Le Castle Vania then you have been anticipating this release just as much as I have.  I was blown away when I downloaded thing beast and saw that it was an hour and a half long.  Where most mixes around between 20-30 mins and consist of an artist's top picks of their favorite tracks, Le Castle Vania puts together a mix that is 75% of his own work and taste to give us a true representation of what of us to expect at the LCV "rockshow". Enjoy :: Le Castle Vania :: Bulletproof Tiger Mixtape

Pursuit of Happiness...

"See, I think drugs have done some *good* things for us, I really do. And if you don’t believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor: go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your cd’s and burn em’. 'Cause you know what? The musicians who’ve made all that great music that’s enhanced your lives throughout the years... Rrrrrrrrrrrrreal fucking high on drugs." Bill Hicks [kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/7xzU9Qqdqww" width="425" height="344" allowfullscreen="true" fvars="fs=1" /] So everyone knows today is the birthday of an infamous dictator, the anniversary of  a tragic massacre and the celebration of a certain practice that dates back to 3rd Millennium BC.  But that's old news so I've compiled a list of some other interesting things that occurred on this day. The Civil Rights Act of 1871 becomes law (you know, kind of a big deal). Western Electric and Warner Bros. announce Vitaphone, a process to add sound to film on this day in 1926. On this day in 1567,  Freedom of religion is granted to the Jews of New Amsterdam (now known of course as New York City). On April 20th, 1986, Michael Jordan sets all-time record for points in an NBA playoff game with 63 against the Boston Celtics. It's also the birthdays of Muhammad (Prophet and founder of Islam), Francois "Papa Doc" Duvalier (Haitian president, something about this day and violent dictators I guess), and the now retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
