Cool Kids Roller Skating

25805|500
So all the club/bars/people making it happen, got together and decided to put together a "employee friends and family" type of event.  An appreciation to everyone that has supported them through the year.  Open bar and late night skating is a perfect place to catch bad ideas and mishaps.  Be sure to check it out!

Invasion of the 80's

80's Rocker Sexy Chic - Patricia Field

80's Rocker Sexy Chic - Patricia Field

We all knew of the little theory that all styles come back around in a few decades, right? But we swore up and down that NO WAY will that ugly 80’s Rocker look- pleather, metallics, hot pink lips, and big hair- EVER come back. Well…were we wrong or what?? Admit it. If we are true fashionistas, then it’s true, we are all giving in to this rebirth of the 80’s era in some way or another. Whether it be the pleather (biker jackets, pants, leggings, skirts), maybe the embellishments (chains, studs, excessive zippers), or just the destroyed or acid washed denim. The 80’s was known as a time where it was “in” to stand out, “in” to be an outcast. Well it’s back. I personally find myself looking in my closet for the most edgy, creative, rocker- fierce garments I own and putting them together for an outfit that screams “Hardcore Vintage”. It’s great! I’m having fun with it- problem is…there aren’t too many websites that sell this true vintage feel. So, to make it a little easier on you, I put together a list of stores I've found online that I’m very fond of. Hope these help ya out on your search for fun rocker fashion! (I’ll add more sites as I discover them, so check back!)

Monday's at Halo get out of hand

24268|500 So I have been doing Monday's at Halo for some time now and I got to say that the past month has been nuts.  More and more industry heads have been out and definitely taking advantage of their night off.  The "debauchery" or call it what you like, have been out of control.  Drunken moments continue every night and stories build upon stories with this place.  Don't miss out on these pics and stop by some time and join in on our drunken madness. Check out some of the pics from last week!

Sloppy Seconds w/ birthday guest Hollywood Holt

Sloppy Seconds was quite the debauchery this past week.  Seemed to be something in the air this night with the amount of people making out with each other.  Here are a few highlights.  Enjoy!

Conflict Minerals: The New Blood Diamonds

Congolese Civilians Working in Gold Mine, Northeastern Congo

As a family prepares to sit down and share a meal, their front door is kicked in and several rebels armed with machine guns and machetes file inside. Two men hold a grandmother’s frail arms as another man uses the muzzle of his gun to rape her. Another rebel soldier has a blade larger than his forearm pressed against a 10 year-old girl’s throat while he ravages her. A mother is raped and beaten to near-death as she fights for her family. Her 4 year-old son is shot in the head and tossed onto the kitchen table as soldiers laughingly suggest that he is eaten along with the rest of the meal. And the father? The rebels already found him outside and left his raped and mutilated body crumpled on the lawn, unable to help his terrified family. This is no horror film, nor any other work of fiction. This is daily life in Democratic Republic of Congo and you and I unwittingly perpetuate it. Read more

F**k Yesss it's almost 2010!

A brief recap on the FY this month.  We did some last minute switching around of talent and brought out a solid line up for sure.  This month we had local DJ and restaurant owner of Top Flr, Jeff Myers, come through to open up for the night massacre. Later our residents took over  with Rrrump's trio of sounds getting people hyped up for the night's highlight. Le Castle Vania decided to go with a "Dance Floor Massacre" theme and created an opener of clips from Texas Chainsaw Massacre and transitioned to his latest release "Nobody gets out Alive." Wrapping the night up and holding people to dance floor was our out of town friend from Los Angeles and So Sweet Records, Eli Smith.  Eli put on a quick strip show for us and dropped the chaos.  Revolt Marketing got Scion to be part of the event and brought us some sweet tank tops!  Congrats to everyone who was able to snag one. A night at FY is nothing less than madness so be sure to check out the pics.  Thanks to everyone that made it out! http://www.twitter.com/lecastlevania http://www.twitter.com/rrrump http://www.twitter.com/eli_smith http://www.twitter.com/jazspa
